About event
The editors and authors will speak on November 15th of the book “War and Peace Movement: Feminist Perspectives” about her new work.
The current military catastrophes are not only causing a collapse in Western European illusions of peace, but also in the comfortable embedding of our societies in a peace continuum. We therefore have to increasingly deal with war, violence, militarization, gender relations and women's peace movements. In this volume, historical, cultural, social science and philosophical authors and activists offer an interdisciplinary look at the fatal effects of war on gender relations and everyday life.
The book brings together texts that focus on historical women's peace movements in the 19th and 20th centuries, as well as international, quite contradictory analyzes of current war events. Fundamental questions about patriarchal violence in all its manifestations, legitimized by media representations, round off the anthology, which was preceded by a symposium on the same topic.
