About event
Book premiere "The Prisoner of Prishtina" - reading, conversation & short films with Henning Rabe and Claus Löser
In his new book "The Prisoner of Prishtina" (publisher Moloko Plus), the writer Henning Rabe describes the fate of a journalist who can no longer leave the capital of Kosovo due to the outbreak of a new epidemic. Prishtina gradually becomes a Kakfka's "castle" for the isolated.
Alternating between reading and conversation, he introduces the book and discusses the background and Eastern Europe with Claus Löser. Two short films by the author will then be presented. The subject is the poems of colleagues from Berlin. We are showing "the poem, the poem" by Stefan Döring (2024, 5´) and "Walks through Prenzlauer Berg" by Ronald Galenza (2025, 12´).
Henning Rabe is a Berlin musician, author, DJ and filmmaker. He has reported on numerous trips to Eastern Europe, but in recent years has turned exclusively to fiction. Since 2017 he has been the editor of the magazine Abwärts!, and in 2025 he is the castle clerk in Beeskow. "The Prisoner of Prishtina" is his tenth book publication.
Dr. After graduating from high school and completing military service, Claus Löser was active in the East German subculture. From 1983 onwards he published the Samizdat edition A DREI together with Frank Bretschneider. In 1988 he moved to the East Berlin area, where he worked as a researcher in the DEFA documentary film studio. Between 1990 and 1995 he studied film in Potsdam-Babelsberg, and in 2010 he received his doctorate at the Konrad Wolf Film University. He works as an author, editor, curator, filmmaker and musician.
