Two conspirators kidnap the CEO of a pharmaceutical company, believing her to be an alien bent on destroying our planet. The Oscar-winning tandem of Yorgos Lanthimos and Emma Stone, who dazzled the world with Poor Girls, plays another provocative and entertaining game. Michelle (Emma Stone), an influential director of a large pharmaceutical company, has a legitimate feeling that the world is at her feet. Unfortunately, it only lasts until she wakes up on a dirty mattress in a stranger's basement, handcuffed, with her head shaved and smeared all over with a strange cream. She was abducted here by two cousins, Teddy (Jesse Plemons) and Don (Aidan Delbis), adamant that Michelle is from another planet and is on a mission to eliminate all intelligent life on Earth. Her hair was shaved and her body was mangled to prevent her from communicating with her mothership. That's how ready they are. Michelle is clear that fools are not to be opposed, so she tries all kinds of corporate tactics and tricks to get out with a sane skin. When you wonder if the world is more dangerous two mages who do everything to save their fellow man or the currently imprisoned ruthless corporate predator. (source: CinemArt)

Two conspiracy theorists kidnap the CEO of a pharmaceutical company, convinced that she is an alien whose mission is to destroy our planet. The Oscar-winning duo of Yorgos Lanthimos and Emma Stone, who captivated audiences with Poor Things, return with another provocative and darkly entertaining story.
Michelle (Emma Stone), the powerful head of a major pharmaceutical corporation, has every reason to feel that the world is at her feet. Unfortunately, that feeling lasts only until she wakes up on a dirty mattress in a stranger's basement—bound, with her head shaved and her body covered in a strange cream. She has been abducted by two cousins, Teddy (Jesse Plemons) and Don (Aidan Delbis), who are utterly convinced that Michelle is an extraterrestrial sent to wipe out all intelligent life on Earth. They shaved her head and smeared her body with cream to prevent her from communicating with her mothership. They are that prepared. Realizing that arguing with fanatics is unlikely to help, Michelle begins using every corporate tactic and psychological trick at her disposal to escape unharmed. As the story unfolds, one question emerges: who poses the greater threat to the world—the two eccentrics determined to save humanity, or the ruthless corporate predator currently being held captive?
