About event
It will be a celebration of recognition! Together we take a journey back in time during the Buurt in Beeld evenings. While enjoying a cup of soup you can have your most beautiful/special neighborhood memory recorded. The stories are linked to places in the area, creating a map of memories.
December 20, Mieke van Beeren shows us video material from the neighborhood from the late 1950s and early 1960s. Skating on the canals in 1963, Queen's Day with a fair on the Nieuwmarkt, family parties and much more. On January 17 we will screen the documentary Memento by Michal Shabtay, a love letter to the neighborhood.
We invite you to come and share a personal memory, listen to the great stories this neighborhood has to offer and perhaps find out from your neighbors what the name of that particular pub was. where you could often be found late into the night. Whether your memory is from the 60s or 00s, was a major event or very everyday... all memories are welcome. Old and new local residents are very welcome. Discover what happened behind your front door or that of the neighbors...
Dates: December 20 & January 17
Time: 6:30 PM - 9:30 PM
