Být Marlene Dietrich

Marlene Dietrich is synonymous with the word freedom - whether it concerns love, sex, creativity, fashion or politics. What we associate with the 20th century - Sternberg, Remarque, Hemingway, Cocteau, Piaf, Brecht - they were all her friends.

How did she and her contemporaries deal with war, dictatorship or questions of sexual freedom? Emigration, Hitler's ban, nostalgia, constant professional improvement: How did she think, how did she act? A woman who went against the grain, an artist who broke stereotypes and a being who was either loved or hated. From costumes to acting to lighting, Marlene Dietrich was driven by an endless desire for perfection and a good taste that never betrayed her. The phenomenon of Marlene Dietrich, against the background of the most turbulent period of the last century, helps to better understand today's times and ourselves.

The performance was created in cooperation and with the financial support of AMU.
