ByteFEST 2024

The 1980s marked a turning point, when personal computers first arrived on our territory. We started getting acquainted with the products of Atari, Commodore, Sharp, Sinclair and others. These computers were not compatible, each manufacturer had its own OS. And so it happened that the scene split into camps, with each extolling the type they had. With the advent of Microsoft and the PC, many users put their pets in the closet. Still, enough enthusiasts remained who continued to improve these old pieces and still keep them running. They sometimes met at various events throughout the country, but still grouped separately according to platforms.
The Bytefest event therefore aimed to unite these enthusiasts. Despite the constant "stengring", new friendships are now being formed, people are exchanging experiences. It was also our goal to attract the general public and thus find successors among the younger generation. After all, thanks to these computer "old-timers" we had the opportunity to get acquainted with computer technology, which is common in our lives today, and it would therefore be a shame to throw these great machines into the containers.
