Event Description: "Walking on the Tunnel Route"
In this Proposal of Activity we will walk in the "famous" Tunneis Route, between the "La Fregeneda" Station D ' Alva, in a course of 17 kms, 20 tunnels and 8 bridges, all of which is accompanied by the beautiful landscapes of Beira Interior and the Águeda River. On the first day we will also walk and visit in the area of the village History of Castelo Rodrigo and Freixo de Espada à Cinta. This weekend we will naturally have the opportunity to try the best flavors of local cuisine. Come so with us!
April 5th (Saturday)
Walking on the trail of the convent
In this walk we will travel medieval paths in the area of the historical village of Castelo Rodrigo. We will depart from this village towards the village of Figueira de Castelo Rodrigo, the first mandatory stop is at the Santa Maria de Aguiar Convent. In return, we will pass the source of blacks and we use some intra-raw paths of the medieval village of Figueira, thus making this 11-kilometer walk that crosses various times of our history. /> Expected time for the beginning of the walk: 11h30

Walking on the Tunneis Route - La Freneis/Barca D'Alva - 17kms
In the past the line of train that connected Barca d'Alva to La Freneda (Spain). The old Douro line ended in Barca d'Alva but the railway remained towards Spain and went to Paris. This line was built in 1887 by the disciples of Eiffel and worked almost a century, having closed in just 1985. The path that connects Freneda to Barca d 'Alva has an extension of 17km, 20 tunnels and 8 bridges, all the way is accompanied by the beautiful landscapes of Beira Interior and the River Águeda. Formerly the passage in the bridges had to be done by a metal post -railing, but now the bridges have been renewed with wooden walkways that make it easier for them to pass in total safety. Expected for the beginning of the walk: 9h
