Event Description: "Walking in Serra da Estrela and Salgarers"
The tranquility and beauty of Serra da Estrela will walk hand in hand, traveling some of the most beautiful landscapes of the entire natural park, such as the village of Lapa dos Dinheiros, the Mrs. From the Desterro, the Alva River, the Tower, Lagoa da Estrela, Skinny and Fat Function, and a ride in Seia!. Come with us in another event not to be missed!

Lapa dos Dinheiros
Lapa dos Dinheiros is implanted at the top of a head reached over the Alva River and Ribeira da Caniça, at an altitude of 700 meters, providing a unaffected view of the Mondego Valley and the Platform. Human occupation of the area dates back to backward periods, as archaeological work is proved at Castro Cabeço, Monte near the village, and which have uncovered the discovered numerous findings from the Neolithic to the Middle Ages. The woods contrasts with the surrounding pine forests and represents, for the inhabitants of Lapa, a source of chestnut and wood. Its floristic cast is extraordinarily different including a high number of rare occurrence species such as a folder, mostajeiro and the holly. In place of the wisp bridge, during the summer, the stream is dammed by creating a small river beach of calm and crystal clear waters.
Devil's horns
The devil's horns are a large granitic rock about 6 meters high, due to erosion, has two ends in sharp stone, so the devil's names. In this place, a mini dam was built to capture waters from Ribeira da Caniça to the Jugais Bridge Chamber
Old Head
The Old Head is one of the former libris of Serra da Estrela that resembles the head of an elderly woman unfinished. As with other blocks in the star, these curious forms are natural and result from the alteration and erosion of the granite. What forms this block has the typical characteristics of Seia granite (with large white crystals). In the surrounding area there can be expressive aspects of granitic morphology, namely in the Lady of Desterro, where the formation of the cliffs is well expressed by the pilgrims of block chaos. This is a religious set that dates back to the sixteenth century, composed of 10 places of Catholic worship. Nine of the temples have the evocation of the life of Jesus Christ being a chapel a “former vote” of thanks to Our Lady of the Boa Viagem.

Salgades
This walk begins in the tower, bound for the long lagoon. When we arrived at Lagoa Comprida we saw the beautiful Dark Lagoon from here, where there will be a pause for picnic, returning backward, towards the suspended valley of the lamp. For those who do not know yet, in Lagoa long flow two tunnels: that of Covão do Meio, with 2354 meters that deflects the water from the slopes of the tower, and that of Covão dos Conhos with 1519 meters that deflects the waters from Ribeira das Naves. The main objective of this walk is undoubtedly to see the “hidden”, the dark lagoon and the suspended voucher of lamp.
