🪻CAMPRODON - SANT ANTONI DE FREIXENET ⛪

Route to the Hermitage of ** Sant Antoni de Freixenet ** in the municipality of ** Camprodon ** (Ripollès) included in the inventory of the architectural heritage of Catalonia.
It is located at the top of the mountain of ** Sant Antoni Vell, ** just south of the urban area of ​​Camprodon. We will pass through the Font del Boix, the monument to César August Torras, and the house of Payés Els WHO. From the hermitage the mountains of ** Canigó, Costabona, Bastiments, Gra de Fajol and the nuclei of Sant Pau de Segúries, Cavallera, La Ral, Camprodon, Llars, La Roca, Abella, Vilallonga de Ter, Tregurà de Dalt and Molló can be observed.
The current chapel replaces what had been built in 1679 on the Mount of Sant Antoni Vell that was destroyed by the French in the occupation of Camprodon between 1689 and 1692. Between 1700 and 1702 the new chapel was built at the top of the mountain of Sant Antoni. Since then it has been destroyed by rays several times. In 1860 it was restored at the initiative of the City Council of Camprodon and renovated again in the eighties by the townspeople.
Since July 2022, this top is included in the list of the ** “100 Cims of the FeEC”. **
