About event

The return of the popular magical musical comedy

It will run 20 years since the opening of the music scene at the beginning of October. The opinions of many mischiefs who claimed in 2004 that the Brno Municipal Theater will own an unused unnecessary building after a few seasons, from today's perspective, seem to be merely funny memories. The Brno musical scene has permanently entered (not only) Czech theater maps and the list of premieres listed here every year and new productions are added, whether they are the premiere of the original titles, or the introduction of classical musicals. In connection with the celebrations of this anniversary, we decided to return to the musical, which many viewers still remember to this day. Thanks to almost 150 reprises, which have taken place since the premiere in 2007, many people have recall a lot of people as the original book or film just this production, which brought Petr Štěpán to the prestigious Thalia Award for portraying demonic Darryl van Horn.
She first became a film hit in which three desperate women performed by Cher, Michelle Pfeiffer and Susan Sarandon are experiencing their bored days in a small town, so they decide to enjoy an entertaining, intelligent, attentive and charming man played by Jack Nicholson. For Czech musical audiences, however, American film stars in the notion of how the inhabitants of Eastwick look, were replaced by actors of our theater, next to Petr Štěpán, Petr Gazdík and unforgettable Martin Havelka. There were a number of actresses in the female trio, many of whom are still members of our ensemble. Thus, the theater criticism of the Brno witch has already known during the first introduction and there is no reason to assume that it will be different for the second time. John Dempsey (libretto and singing lyrics) and Dan P. Rowe (music) wrote a successful stage form of the work, which premiered in 2000 at the Drury Lane Theater in London and was based on the best traditions of the classic Broadways musical, which was confirmed at domestic Stage.
