"Comtemplative Dance Practice (CDP) is a structured discipline which gives us time and space to explore and evolve our personal awareness of body[mind] together with others." -Barbara Dilley
CDP is a specific structure designed by Barbara Dilley. It is organized into the following sections: opening circle, meditation, personal awareness practice, open space, and closing circle. Contact Improvisation (CI) is not codified. The only agreement is that we are making contact and improvising. Labbing is dancing and talking about what we are doing. The purpose of a laboratory is to be curious, together, about what we are doing, why, and what else is possible. We come together to observe and research; to practice. This is held as creative space for all abilities and experience levels. Beginners are welcome and advised that there will be no technical instruction on what to do.
Doors open at 8:45. Meditation begins promptly at 9:00 am. Come for CDP and/or the CI Lab. If you'd like to only attend the lab, please be at the door at 10:20 am.
