Cena za vedu a techniku 2025

The Ministry of Education, Research, Development and Youth of the Slovak Republic will also award the highest award in the field of science and technology in 2025, namely the Prize for Science and Technology. The aim of awarding this important award is to support the development of science and technology and thus to recognize extraordinary results in the given field. The awards for science and technology, which replaced the awards of the Minister of Education, Science, Research and Sports of the Slovak Republic, which had been awarded until now, were presented for the first time in 2014. This transformation aimed to increase the social prestige of the awards.

The award for science and technology is awarded in five categories:

1. Personality of science and technology - for recognized experts who contribute to significant progress.

2. Personality of science and technology under the age of 35 - honors young talents who have already shown exceptional potential at an early stage of their career.

3. Popularizer of science - for those who can make scientific knowledge available to the general public.

4. Scientific and technical team of the year - recognition for teams whose joint work leads to exceptional results beyond the borders of our country.

5. Lifetime achievements in the field of science and technology - an honor for many years of work and contribution to Slovak science.
