About event

We present to you sustainable travel with an overlap in nature conservation, monitoring of endangered animal species and cooperation with national parks. Your knowledge does not disturb natural processes, does not threaten or harm animals and helps with their direct field protection. The current state of travel is mostly motivated by superficial entertainment and a flat exploration of nature or culture. Let's call it "fast traveling". Justice for Nature comes up with something new, innovative and especially important, i.e. "slow traveling", which could transform travel into a unique experiential and at the same time beneficial journey to learn about and protect wild nature. Our areas of interest are two fascinating countries. One is the country with the most biodiversity in the smallest area, i.e. Costa Rica in Central America, and the other is another natural gem with a much larger area, and that is Indonesia, specifically Sumatra. In Costa Rica, we have built a unique background in the most important ecosystems on planet Earth, which are the rainforest and the Pacific Ocean. Travelers can participate with us in the monitoring of jaguars, cougars, or tapirs in the forests and even in national parks, which is the Eye of the Jaguar program. The second extraordinary offer is the Eye of the Ocean monitoring program, where they can participate in the research and conservation monitoring of whales, especially long-finned humpback whales, with our project motor yacht The Spartan. In both cases, it is a direct field protection of nature. Program participants will experience extraordinary experiences in the forests with accommodation at our Green Life forest base in the Talamanca Cordillera mountain range, or at the Blue Life ocean base in Santa Elena Bay. Part of our offer also includes possible visits to national parks, where people can help the rangers and learn about their work. In Sumatra, travelers are talking about a unique three-day cruise on a tropical river on motorboats with an overnight stay in tents on the banks. This fascinating river expedition will introduce a unique river ecosystem full of animals, including crocodiles. This trip also includes a two-day trip to a magical lowland forest with Sumatran orangutans. The next continuation of this unusual expedition is a cruise to the fabulous archipelago of Pulau Banyak in the Indian Ocean, where the coconut paradise of Sikandang Island will become their home in the Blue Life beach project base. Help with beach cleaning and monitoring of the underwater world and the biodiversity of coral reefs will also be part of the knowledge. The icing on the cake is a trip to the deserted magical island of Bangkaru, where sea turtles lay their eggs on Amandaga beach, and we will help the giant turtles clean their beach. In both cases, people travel with us to forest and ocean ecosystems to understand the importance of these ecosystems to climate stability. Travelers will not only gain extraordinary knowledge, but will also benefit nature and its protection. Traveling Otherwise is a sustainable form of travel, where, despite the fact of your carbon footprint, you will carry out important activities in nature protection and support field monitoring with the aim of detecting illegal activities, or environmental education for children. Part of the knowledge is vegan eating as part of sustainable travel, which tries to show people the way to new ethical experiences without devastation of nature.
