"Across Africa 20,000 km from Morocco to South Africa (Laco Branický)"
Hello, in September 2024 I set out on my most adventurous journey yet, from Bratislava to the southernmost point of Africa, Cape Strelkov. All on one ordinary steel bicycle.
I crossed Europe to Morocco and then continued along the west coast of Africa through the Sahara dunes, jungles and little-known countries of the Gulf of Guinea. I crossed the equator, got malaria three times, lost weight 12 kg, I took off a tent, a sleeping bag and a pair of shirts. I crossed the Congo River and discovered the vast savannahs full of elephants and zebras. I completed the journey at the southernmost point of Africa - Cape Sagittarius, where the Indian and Atlantic oceans meet. I cycled for 279 days 23,000 km, I saw 21 countries, slept in a tent and drank 667 beers.

My name is Karol and on this page I am dedicated to a solo expedition by bicycle around the world, which I completed between 2013 and 2016. The planned route measures more than 80,000 km in, passes through more than 60 countries and I will be on the road for 4 years. That was the original plan, but plans change and in the end also due to various unplanned circumstances, the route changed and I crossed 62 countries and cycled 69,509 km on my own during 3 years and 5 months on the road. deserts, but also civilization. I start at home in Slovakia. It may sound unrealistic, even daring, but the main goal of the project is to show that any idea is limited by ourselves and how strong the human will is. First of all, this project is not about traveling and the bicycle is just a great means of transportation what people can do on the way to their dreams, if they devote enough energy to it. It's about discovering the unknown and taking in what life will bring. Along the way, I will visit well-known places, but also through abandoned, little-visited places, but also ordinary places where ordinary people live. The route will be not only dirty, but also quite realistic days are also in the Hall of Fame.
In addition to the adventure, this project is also a challenge, whether mental or physical, as I carry everything on the road with me on the bike.
