"Last year I visited SURINAM, where I spent two months and traveled the entire country, which is an absolute travel sensation and an unknown, undiscovered destination. The largest jungle in the world with 93 percent of its territory covered by endless forest, wild animals and birds, authentic Indian tribes, indigenous communities of descendants of African slaves with preserved traditions and way of life as in the 15th century, a mixture of cultures and peoples from all continents in the smallest country of South America, the only country on the continent with Dutch as an official language, wooden colonial architecture inscribed in UNESCO, poverty in contrast to the rich deposits of gold and bauxite. A South American country that is close to the Caribbean and the Caribbean way of life a colorful carnival, an unbridled tropical paradise that almost no one knows about. I brought over 16,000 photos from there and I am probably the first Slovak who has ever documented Suriname in depth."
