Vigorous electronic post-punk
Mainstage | Ticket €12,-
What do you get when you throw electronic music and post-punk into a blender? Chalk! The Northern Irish trio combines their love of film and the emerging dance scene in Belfast with the characteristically vicious sounds of Dublin guitar bands and post-punk. The result is a hybrid sound that floats somewhere between IDLES, Death Grips, Daniel Avery and Bicep.
Chalk was formed in 2019 after the band members met at film school. The band's soundscape consists of howling guitars, a relentless rhythm section and a raw, visceral spoken word style and through the use of visuals the band interweaves their visual style with the sound during their live performances.
