I’m Mel, I've been a Prague tour guide and watercolor painter for about 8 years now. I’m bringing together the skills I've learned to create a new type of experience: a classic history walking tour followed by a step-by-step painting workshop, to make your own souvenir of a classic Prague landmark.
Prague is a gorgeous city, which inspired me to pick up painting after I first moved here from the US in 2015. Meanwhile, becoming a tour guide really helped me appreciate the city in a new light, as the history of Prague is inextricable from it’s streets and architecture - no matter where you are, clues of that history are scattered around you. Capturing the beauty and intrigue of that history is no easy feat artistically, but over time I discovered a relaxing style of watercolor that allows me to express *my* Prague, and I want to bring that joy to others.
This whimsical style is really fun and relaxing to paint without the stress of hyper-realism or strong technical skills - it’s all about enjoying the experience, expressing yourself, and walking away with a unique memory that you can hang on your wall. It’s flexible to accommodate all skill levels, and customizable so that each participant will walk away with a painting that is unique to them.
✨ What to Expect: Charles Bridge’s history walk (30-45 min), then a quick walk to a workshop space in Malá Strana, where I will lead you step-by-step to create your own Charles Bridge tower watercolor painting (1.5-2 hr). No experience necessary, supplies are provided
✨ When: 1:30-4:30pm, Feb 2nd 2025
✨ Where: Křižovnické náměstí 110 00 Staré Město, beside the statue of Charles IV
✨ Cost: Donation per person - you decide the value of the experience at the end! Food & drink will also be available for purchase at the workshop space
✨ Limited Spots Available! Please book by selecting “attending” on this event, this time around I can offer 10 spots. Please be in touch if you will not be able to attend or are running late.
✨ Photo Agreement: I will have someone taking some photos throughout - it’s all about documenting the experience, not focusing on any one individual. These photos will be used for future promotional material. If you are uncomfortable with this, simply let me know and I am happy to accommodate accordingly, no stress.
