Chen Chieh and Camiel - Antonyms
Antonyms is a performance in which they translate the hard & soft sides of both life and breaking into powerful, graceful and intertwined movements. A deep dive in the whirlpools of our lives, to get to the eye of the storm, to find out after the moment of rest that the process repeats itself again.
Chieh Kuan, from Taiwan, and Camiel Kok, grew up in Utrecht, met each other on the dance education in Utrecht. Together they share an emergency passion for breaking. Because the art form is so versatile, the two still have large differences in their movement qualities. Characteristic of Chen Chieh is his tight and firmness, and in Camiel there are loose fluidity. Because of these differences, they fit together as a cast together to present a surprising and varied piece.
Kalpanarts - Between US
In Between US, two dancers playfully explore the vulnerable dynamics of trust: building, losing and regaining each other. Play and intimacy flow together in an energetic and tender duet that takes the audience up close in their search.
The choreography is inspired by, among other things, the Taoist "Six Healing Sounds" meditation and is steeped in the unique dance steel in which classic style and contemporary. Rhythmic footwork and expressive hand gestures make Between us a physical experience.
The music of composer Simone Giacomini, with the distorted, enchanting voice of the Spanish singer Paloma Lázaro Arteaga, pushes the dancers and puts the rhythm of their connection. As a heartbeat, complex Indian rhythms can be heard. Between US is an ode to trust and the power of human encounter.

nnamdi nwagwu - sir.emotional
"Sir. Emotional" is a solo about a personal journey. It explores the emotional landscape of a black man who struggles with heartache and confrontation with the tension between vulnerability and strength. By breaking through the walls, the piece invites the audience to a raw but intimate space where the performance turns into a confession. A confession about the emotional challenge about stereotypes and the silent rebellion against these ideas. It is a shout for dignity, survival and the right to feel.
NNAMDI NWAGWU is an Italian-Nigerian choreographer and performer, based in Rotterdam. His work combines emotional depth with bold physicality and often investigates themes such as identity, displacement and resilience. With a background in both classic and contemporary dance, NNAMDI creates powerful, intimate pieces that challenge and invite conventions to reflection. His choreographic voice is rooted in personal experience, cultural complexity and an urge to make a deep connection with the public.
