About event
After performing at the Pohoda festival, artists from Ukrainian Kherson also come to Prešov. Stromoradie will once again be one of the stops on their Slovak tour, during which they will present an exceptional program full of theatre, music, poetry and dance. We are waiting for two program bands
18:00 | KRYLA Foundation Kherson
The KRYLA program is a varied cultural block for children and adults and will bring:
*theatrical performance Margarita and the Bear
*musical-poetry-dance band On the wings of dreams, in which female singers, a saxophonist, reciter and dancers will perform, and a joint flash mob led by a choreographer.
How does a children's sound sound? voice in a country that has been ravaged by war for more than four years? The production On the wings of dreams brings a strong musical and poetic band of young artists from the Kherson region of Ukraine, who, despite the everyday reality of war, do not lose hope or the desire to create.
The program combines songs, poetry and theatrical words into one story about courage, the power of children's imagination and faith in a more peaceful future.
Talented children - laureates of all-Ukrainian art competitions and festivals - will perform on stage and tell their own stories through music and art.
* a creative workshop for the production of traditional Ukrainian dolls will be prepared for children, which they will be able to take home as a self-made souvenir.
20:00 | One-day hero
The Kherson regional academic music-drama theater of Mykola Kuliš from Ukraine returns to the Pohoda festival and to Stromoradia after previous performances. This time he will present a suggestive monodrama, which was created in the context of Russian aggression against Ukraine and brings personal testimonies about war, loss and resilience.
The monodrama One Day Hero (80 min.) is based on the true story of a Kherson veteran who left the city after the beginning of the occupation and joined the ranks of the Ukrainian army. After being injured at the front, he finds himself on stage, where he tells his life story - and at the same time prepares to act as an animator at a children's party.
The military uniform gradually changes into a clown costume before the eyes of the audience, and the atmosphere of the performance changes with it: from raw military experience to irony, gentle humor and touching contact with the audience. A strong personal statement about war, memory and the return to civilian life is thus transformed into a fragile celebration of humanity and the ability not to lose empathy even after trauma.
Author and performer: Volodymyr Tuka
Director: Serhij Pavluk
The Kherson ensemble continues to create and play right in the city that was occupied and still lives under the threat of shelling. Their productions are among the most authentic artistic statements about the contemporary Ukrainian experience and at the same time powerful reminders of specific human destinies behind the news headlines.
"For me, the Kherson Theater is proof of the infinite power of art and the importance of culture. Despite the fact that the city is under constant fire, the streets must be protected by drone nets, there is a terrifying daily hunt for people, which the world has called the "human safari". despite these cruelties of Russian aggression, performances and workshops for children are played here every weekend. The theater has become an oasis of life and how artists do not give up even in really difficult times. I am proud that these exceptional and inspiring people will also come to Pohoda," says Michal Kaščák from the Pohoda festival.
