About event
Hi everyone!
Join us on **Saturday, July 25th**, for a screening of [Chica Checa ](https://www.kinosvetozor.cz/en?sort=sort-by-data&cinema=3%2C1%2C2%2C9&hall=1%2C2%2C3%2C34%2C35&search=chica+&projection=52482)at [Kino Bio Oko](https://www.biooko.net/en). The film begins at **20:30.**
You’ll find me (wearing a bright pink/flowery scarf) at the Kino Bio Oko café from 8 pm.
The 2026 comedy-drama, directed by Czech filmmaker, and FAMU alum, Šimon Holý, recently had its world premiere at the [Karlovy Vary International Film Festival](https://www.kviff.com/en/programme/film/84/49856-chica-checa?lng=1), where it competed for the Crystal Globe. The movie ‘explores a widow’s journey as she deals with her son’s hidden identity as a drag queen. But both mother and son discover that reinvention is possible at any age’ ([here](https://variety.com/2026/film/global/pluto-film-chica-checakarlovy-vary-1236788880/)).
Come enjoy this screening and stay for a drink and a chat about the film afterward!
