The old Model prison will host the first function of the work "Chista against Franco" in Barcelona. This theatrical action recovers clandestine humor born during the dictatorship and transition, and claims it as a form of anti -fascist resistance, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the death of dictator Francisco Franco.
The event is organized by the European Observatory of Memoirs of the Fondaicó Solidarity UB (Eurom) with the support of the Barcelona City Council. Theatrical, created by Eugenio Merino, together with the humorist Darío Adanti and produced by the Mongolia satirical magazine, has the participation of journalist and actress Ana Alonso, who contextualizes the chants with texts and documents of the time that show the violence of the Franco regime. The project also has the collaboration of historians and specialists such as Paul Preston, Miguel Ángel del Arco, the archeologist Alfredo González-Ruibal, the President of the Association for the Recovery of the Historical Memory Emilio Silva and the journalist Olga Rodríguez.
The work will be presented in Barcelona by the historian Matilde Eiroa Eiroa. With the creators Eugenio Merino, Darío Adanti and Ana Alonso, in which he will reflect on the historical memory, the committed humor and the rise of the denialist speeches today.
