About event
Social media are increasingly becoming a field of fundamentalist players. This also includes influencers that use platforms such as YouTube or Tiktok to present their ideas of authentically lived Christianity. At the same time, their representations are highly political and partly overlap with positions of the new right. With Daniel Rudolphi we look at this phenomenon and the question: How do we deal with it?
Christfluencer often have a young target group. Their radical interpretation of Christianity is perceived as particularly authentic. Lifestyle, lifestyle and faith increasingly combine with political positions. Christian-fundamentalist and new rights overlap, especially with topics such as gender, queerness, abortion, but also in the denial of man-made climate change. There are also increasing cooperation between Christmas fluencers and actors of the new right. Also about options for action for churches and communities: Where does the interweaving of Christian and right positions come from? And how can these movements react?
Dr. Daniel Rudolphi is a representative for worldview questions from the Evangelical Lutheran State Church of Hanover. In addition to practical and empirical work, his field of activity includes dialogue with ideological groups as well as advisory and further education activities. He studied evangelical theology in Leipzig, Oslo and Berlin and devoted himself to the topic of the parish fusion as part of his dissertation at the University of Göttingen. After the vicariate, he worked in a special position for recruiting young talent in the training department of the Bremen Evangelical Church and as a parish priest in Bernau near Berlin.
