About event
Chucho Valdés, piano
José Armando Gola, double bass and electric bass
Roberto Jr. Vizcaíno, percussions
Horacio el Negro Hernández, drums
Long live, live! Our godfather, Chucho Valdés, returns to the festival. In 2023 he showed us the first steps of his latest album, Cuba & Beyond, at the head of his Royal Quartet, a top machine with José Armando Gola to the double bass and electric bass, Roberto Jr. Vizcaíno to the percusions and Horacio El Negro Hernández to the drums. Two years later, Chucho's musical flow remains the same: inexhaustible and almost unbarkable. Powerful music of unequivocal Afro -Cuban root inserted in the great tradition of jazz, with pieces as spectacular as Congablues, soundtrack of a landscape that evokes both Santiago de Cuba and New Orleans. What a night awaits us.
