About event
Wednesday, December 3rd. 7pm at the Clinton Street Theater. $10, no one turned away.
Through fire, snow, and hail, this swirling, discursive Magic Realist epic follows three generations and thirty years in a Slovakian village, and the spirit of the irrepressible beehive that represents them. THE MILLENNIAL BEE is a towering patchwork portrait of sex, labor and death at the turn of the Twentieth Century, leading to the slaughter of the first World War and the birth of Socialist resistance. Told with absurd and psychedelic detours, and director Juraj Jakubisko's signature soaring camerawork, it's often considered the Czechoslovakian New Wave legend's greatest achievement!
