The Cultural Scope of El Corte Inglés is pleased to invite you to the 1st session of the Cycle “Listening to the World ”, by Nuno Artur Silva, to be held on January 8th at 6:30 pm, in the Cultural Scope Room of El Corte Inglés in Lisbon.
Synopsis
From everything we heard, what do we choose to listen to? At the beginning of his Essay on Blindness, José Saramago writes: “If you can look, see. If you can see it, notice it.” (Book of Councils). Here we could say: If you can hear, listen. If you can hear, pay attention. Listening to the World is the monthly live magazine from El Corte Inglés' Cultural Âmbito. Every month, Nuno Artur Silva will make a very specific general summary of the world's events in the past month, the big ones and, above all, the small ones; not always – or almost – those that were most highlighted in the media and social networks. It will also bring a chosen list of books, stories, poems, songs, music, images, films, series, and other unlikely or fallible forms of salvation or, at least, guidance. There may also be guests related to that month's themes or choices. Bring a notepad and pencil. Listening to the World is also the name of the TSF program authored and presented by Nuno Artur Silva, in which every
week he talks to different writers, musicians and artists about their work and their listening to the world. TSF: Wednesdays, after the 1pm news; Saturdays, after the 11:00 news; and always on podcasts on the various available platforms. Sponsored by the El Corte Inglés Cultural Section.
