CIEL in Bitterzoet

Ciel from Brighton makes a mix of moody Indierock, Shoegaze, Goth, Postpunk/New Wave and Triphop in which essential melodies are interwoven with a dark, driving energy. The band is led by the singer and songwriter Michelle Hindriks born in the Netherlands and has evolved into a duo in the studio with the addition of drummer Tim Spencer. The sound of Ciel is both atmospheric and urgent. Heavy guitars, pulsating bass lines and driving rhythms form the backdrop for the oppressive but intimate vocals of Hindriks. Think of a sound that keeps the middle between the blurry allure of Slowdive, the urgency of Wolf Alice and the sultry Cool of The Cure - Esopian but Punchy, Nostalgic but fresh, and leaving space for quirky sound experiments by using Vintage Synths and Samples.
