A classic world drama that is still painfully relevant today. Already in the 1930s, Lorca opened the themes of freedom, identity and the position of women in society through strong female protagonists. In hot Andalusia, passion meets tradition on a wedding day. Leonardo kidnaps the bride - or is she herself running away from the life that was meant for her? Are repressed feelings stronger than the fear of consequences?
An archetypal story about mothers and sons, fathers and daughters, about love, honor and decisions that lead to the edge of death. The dreamy drama also speaks of the desire to forgive - but revenge can be stronger.
