One day, forty-year-old Hester Swan meets a ghost who escorts the dead to the other world. But he comes too soon - he mistook dawn for dusk. And as it turns out, the person she has to escort in a few hours is Hester.
Irish playwright Marina Carr reworks the ancient story of Medea in her play and moves it to the environment of the contemporary Irish countryside.
Hester struggles for everything that makes up her world - for the love of a younger man who left her for a younger and richer woman, for her home and for her daughter Josie. Her struggle is also a struggle with inevitable fate.
The author reveals the basic human passions in their purest form – love, hatred, betrayal and the desire for revenge. It places an ancient tragedy in an environment that is familiar to us too.
Strong and evocative story directed by Matúš Bachynec, in which reality intertwines with myths, legends and the silent presence of the supernatural.
