Annotation
Assertive foreign policy, in many ways different from their predecessors who more or less adhered to Teng Siao-Pching's postulate from 1989 "to hide their brightness and wait for the right moments".
In 2013, Jinjing announced his first global initiative called the new Silk Trail (today the belt and trail). This was followed by a series of geostrategic projects in the form of so -called three global initiatives (development, security and civilization). In their summary, these incisions seek to the "building of a shared fate for humanity" to a fundamental transformation of the system of international relations established after the end of the 2nd World and then Cold War.
The basic characteristics of this revision is a departure from the multilateral and alliance system towards the multipolar order, based on power and "civilization" centers with "natural" spheres of influence. This approach is supported by Putin's Russia, and occasionally, in some aspects, the new Trump administration in the US.
Such a system would be a major challenge especially for small states as the Czech Republic. It is in our essential interest to reflect these trends in an effort to define the optimal position for the Czech Republic in the current rapidly changing world.
