📆DATE OF ACTION: JANUARY 12, 2025
EVENT DESCRIPTION:
In this event we will enjoy the day to go on a walk that over approximately 14 km will take us to visit 9 of the most emblematic viewpoints in the city of Lisbon, this time revealing some of the best panoramic views over the city of Lisbon and its surroundings, with special emphasis on some viewpoints of Monsanto, including the "famous" Monsanto Panoramic. We will also visit some gardens in the urban part and trails in the green heart of the city, which we need to preserve and rediscover! Come and learn more about the city of Lisbon.
✔Some of the points of interest on the walk:
- Miradouro do Parque Eduardo VII
- Miradouro do Prédio from Banco Santander/ANACOM
- Mirante do Morro de Campolide
- Mirante do Moinho das 3 Cruzes do Calhau
- Mirante da Luneta dos Quartéis
- Mirante das 6 Pedreiras< br/ >- Moinhos do Mocho Viewpoint
- Alto da Serafina Viewpoint
- Etc, etc, etc
Alto da Serafina Viewpoint
In a At the highest level of the Alto da Serafina Recreational Park, we find a grassy and asphalted clearing, where a shed was built that houses a kind of mini-bar and some benches to support onlookers at the Alto da Serafina Viewpoint.
< br/>We are totally enveloped by the spirit of nature as we observe the landscape on the east side of Serra de Monsanto, parish of Benfica. Despite its beauty, the same vegetation also hides part of the nearby landscape.
To the south, in the distance, we see the 25 de Abril Bridge arched over the Tagus River, in front of the Cristo Rei located in Almada. The Eastern perspective guards the urban landscape of Lisbon, with the three Amoreiras Towers and the Águas Livres Aqueduct in great prominence.
Miradouro das 3 Cruzes do Calhau
This Miradouro It is located at an altitude of 125 m and provides a very comprehensive view of Sete Rios and part of the Alcântara valley, and nothing remains of the original construction but the current ruins.
Miradouro dos Moinhos do Mocho
They were built during the Estado Novo period, with the sobriety and austerity characteristic of their author, the Architect Keil do Amaral, and are currently a living area where two mills stand out, remembering a past in which cereal fields covered the mountain.
