let's read, talk and understand Buddhist texts (suttas/discourses) together.
"when we read individual suttas in a wider context, a complete and vivid picture of the Buddha's teachings emerges."
you will learn key terms in Pali (the language closest to the Buddha's words), you will compare the English translations (by Bikkhu Bodhi and Ajahn Sujat) with the Czech translations, you will gradually get to know the Buddha's disciples and lay followers, the philosophical and religious background of that time so that the message of the Buddhist suttas becomes clearer. In the first hour, you will read a selected sutta and discuss it.
everyone will have literature in the Czech language available (no need to buy them)

2.Czech translation of the first 50 suttas from the Majhima Nikáya collection (translation by Štepán Chromovský and Bikkhu gavésako)
(both books will be available in the center)
the classes are intended for both practitioners and those who are considering starting meditation
knowledge of the Buddha's teachings is the key to a deeper understanding and progress in meditation practice. when
the Buddha was 35 years old, he attained complete knowledge of the nature of our existence, and for the next 45 years he imparted his
wisdom to those who were willing to listen. how will we know what he was really saying over
two and a half millennia ago? many comparative studies and philological analyzes indicate that the early suttas (discourses) in the Pali canon have a high degree of authenticity. three large collections are considered the most representative: majjhima nikáya (middle discourses), samyutta nikáya (related discourses) and anguttara nikáya (numbered discourses). during these years he went through several traditions from laymen (Eckhart Tolle and Jack Kornfield) to Tibetan and Mahayana (That Nhat Hanh) to Theravada Buddhism (Ajahn Brahm and Ajahn Sona). But Martin says, "I consider the Buddha as the main teacher, and his teachings as recorded in the early Buddhist texts." martin has been the director of a trading company for over 30 years.
