Duo Levine-Pina
Pina and Levine seek a new element, which in their imagination is a mixture of wood, metal and wind, Ventus, with electricity and electromagnetism, Aether. The result is a unique soundscape that blends the traditional and the contemporary, a sound journey that transports the listener to new territories.
Pina uses expanded techniques to extract unfamiliar, xenharmonic sounds from a simulacrum of a historic Portuguese organ, which he created, along with a Moog synthesizer and Theremin.
Andrew Levine shapes the sounds in the air with the Moog Theremin and a modular synthesizer with voice control, Stereo Field processor, Cracklebox and Continuum.
Both work together to weave a sonic tapestry that functions as a kaleidoscope into a universe of strange and magical images, like a surrealist film...
