Claudio Monteverdi: Madrigali guerrieri et amorosi (1638)

🎵 Claudio Monteverdi published the eighth book of Madrigal in 1638, at a time when the opera as an artistic form was becoming increasingly popular. In order to give his Madrigal a theatrical character, he called them "Madrigali Guerrieri e amorosi", Madrigalas combat and love. They are truly openly dramatic in their expression, in fact, they can be called mini operators due to their contradictory characters, intense drama and programm. The most important are the famous Combattimento di Tancredi e Clorinda (Tassa text) and the beautiful Lamento della ninfa, one of the most visible laps ever written (Krijn Koetsveld). Dámec (Altus), Christian Volkmann (Tenor) and Václav Jeřábek (BAS) will present a wide variety of combat and love moods and affects at this concert.
