About event
Brno Observatory and Planetarium and the largest Central European Film Festival of Sci-Fi and Future Gate Culture https://futuregate.cz/ cordially invite you on October 11, 2025 at 6:30 pm. The body ends and the machine starts?
prof. RNDr. MUDr. Ondřej Bradáč, Ph.D. (Neurosurgical and neurooncological clinic 1.LF UK and ÚVN Prague)
prof. RNDr. Matej Daniel, Ph.D. (Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, CTU in Prague)
In this moderated discussion, we will introduce with leading experts how far we are on the way to the connection of man and machine-from the limbs through the brain interface to the designs of future implants. It will be discussed not only about technical possibilities, but also about ethical and social impacts. What does the "improved" body mean for our identity? And how close are we visions that we know today from movies today? The discussion will take place as part of the Future Gate festival and after it we have to screen the cult film Robocop (1987). The hall of the large planetarium (so -called digitarium) with a capacity of 189 seats. The price is 160 CZK. The whole program at our observatory can be found here: https://www.hvezdarna.cz/porad/future-gate-sci-film-festival-2025/
