About event
"What if" is a discussion show in which moderator Martin Rota together with guests examines hypothetical scenarios like "What would happen if ...". Each episode is devoted to a different speculative theme and is looking for a scientifically based answer to inquisitive questions in a lightweight form. The show combines humor and insight with factual content and popularization style, which makes it easy to understand for laymen. The aim is to entertain the audience and at the same time make him think about how the alternative development of events could affect our world. At Comic Connoji Praha 2025, viewers will experience two special discussions full of surprising knowledge and interesting guests.
What if the US did not land on the Moon? Attention will focus on the phenomenon of misinformation and conspiracy theories. On the example of the claim that Apollo's landing on the Moon was staged, guests will discuss how such conspiracy theories arise, why they can convince many people and what they have on society. Jan "Jaron" Tomaštík and Patrik Kořenář will share his experience in the fight against misinformation and think about why people are prone to believe and seemingly nonsensical fictions. Discussions will also outline the mechanisms of disseminating fake news in today's media landscape and offer tips on how to defend them through critical thinking. It will again be a lightweight but factual debate that not only entertains the audience but also learns the importance of verifying information at a time when hoaxes and conspiracy are doing extremely.
