About event
Liberté, Égalité, brutality: The paths of the French brutalist architecture
France is not only a country of Gothic cathedrals, but also boasts a rich architectural heritage of the 2nd half of the 20th century. A number of architecturally valuable buildings created in a period when the country was experiencing intensive postwar growth, is now registered on the UNESCO cultural heritage list or protected. Whether they are newly built settlements in the suburbs of Paris, a town completely rebuilt after the World War II, new neighborhoods of large cities, completely newly built tourism centers or architect Le Corbusiera. The aim of the lecture is to introduce some of these places and bring their creation in a period social context.
