COLISEUM [usa] THULSA [cz]

Coliseum are one of the key underground bands of the beginning of the millennium. The band was founded in 2003 by singer and guitarist Ryan Patterson. The final line-up includes bassist Kayhan Vaziri and drummer Carter Wilson. Since the release of their debut album in 2004, Coliseum have gone through "tour inferno", playing 1,000 concerts worldwide and releasing five full-length albums.

Coliseum can be considered part of a wave of progressive-minded bands from the turn of the millennium, among which including their contemporaries Torche, Baroness, Kylesa, Cursed and Doomriders. Their albums Goddamage, No Salvation, House With a Curse, Sister Faith or Anxiety's Kiss on the labels Relapse, Temporary Residence Ltd. and Deathwish Inc., can be boldly described as "milestones" of the style. Coliseum have toured extensively in North America, Europe, Australia and Japan with the aforementioned bands, as well as Converge, Rise Against, High On Fire, Mono, From Ashes Rise, Russian Circles, Girls Against Boys, Municipal Waste, Dillinger Escape Plan, Napalm Death.

The band went on hiatus in late 2015, following the release of their fifth and final album, Anxiety's Kiss. Patterson formed the post-punk band Fotocrime, Vaziri continued to grind Yautja, and Wilson fronts Null. The trio remained close friends and released a surprise album in 2023 under the name C.L.S.M. titled Infinity Shit on Equal Vision Records. The album returned to their d-beat roots and appeared on many best album of the year lists.

To mark the 20th anniversary of their first album, Coliseum are back and will be playing select festival and live shows. In the autumn of 2024, Equal Vision Records will release a special edition vinyl reissue of the first album Coliseum.

The Prague stop is scheduled for November 30, 2024 at the Prague club Punctum in Žižkov. Stylistically related Thulsa, whose debut album Přikryti stíny was released in March 2024 on Kabinet Records, will lead the way.

The capacity of the club is 120 figures. There are 100 tickets available for pre-sale.
