Swing your way into fall! This October we will be holding a collegiate shag workshop with renowned instructors Peter Flahiff and Lauren Smith.
Peter and Lauren are a dynamic duo of swing dance instructors with over forty years of experience between the two of them. Both have dance backgrounds based off classic dances from the Swing Era. With Seattle as their home base, the two of them spend their time teaching at dance events and workshops throughout the world.
Curious about what collegiate shag is? It's a style of swing dance from the 20's and 30's that's primarily danced to up-tempo and swing styles of music. The dance originated within the African American community of the Carolinas and later spread across the states during the 1930s. Getting curious? Come check out the workshop, no experience required (beginners welcome).
Workshop 1PM-3:30PM
Cost: $40 +Eventbrite fee for two-hour workshop (includes break)
*Hour one will be oriented for beginner-level dancers. Hour two will be oriented towards all-levels.
