Jakub TURÁC & COMMON GROUND (SK/PL) - Jazz bez hraníc v Hogo Fogo

Project name: Common Ground

Common Ground is an international jazz project that was created by a meeting of young musicians at the Summertime Music workshop. After the first joint jam sessions, it became clear that their musical language is exceptionally compatible. Since then, their artistic and personal ties have deepened and resulted in the creation of a band that builds on original compositions and original sound.

The group consists of:

Marta Jaroszyńska (PL) – pianist and composer, master's student at the jazz academy in Katowice.

Jakub Kołodziejczyk (PL) – vibraphonist and composer, graduate of the jazz department in Katowice, active on the Polish and European scene.

Jakub Turác (SK) – drummer, graduate of the J. L. Bell Conservatory in Banská Bystrica and student of Music and Art Privat University of City of Vienna, active on the Slovak and international scene.

Róbert Ragan Jr. (SK) – an established Slovak double bassist, sought after for collaborations with leading jazz figures.

Music Common Ground is based on the jazz tradition, but moves it into the current context of modern jazz. The members bring personal experiences, their own musical stories and an experimental approach to their compositions, creating a unique sound space. Their goal is to show that jazz is a common language without borders - a place where four artists from different countries meet on one ground: Common Ground.
