About event
A special sustainable neighborhood has been built on a former riding school site on the edge of the Nimmerdor estate in Amersfoort: Common Woods. The 56 circular homes form a coherent whole in which facilities are shared. It was an exercise in patience for project developer Maurits van Hoogevest, because it took years before the homes were ready. But the result is impressive. FASadE will take a look on October 16, 2025 and give the floor to designers and stakeholders.
To get a taste of the atmosphere of the project, you can visit Common Woods prior to the lecture. The number of participants for this is limited, so register in time. This will be followed by the lecture by architect Lidia Egorova (Space&Matter)and landscape architect Rex van Beijsterveldt (DELVA) and a table conversation that takes place in the restaurant Pure.
Space&Matter is a progressive architectural firm for spatial and strategic design. The studio works with an integrated approach on complex assignments, from buildings to (circular) area development. Always with the aim of having a positive influence on the environment and promoting social cohesion. Circular systems, participation and inclusivity are central to this process. Known from Schoonschip, WijLand and De Ceuvel in Amsterdam, among others.

DELVA works on major current challenges such as sustainable urbanization, nature development and the changing meaning of the public domain. A multidisciplinary approach is central, characterized by co-creation and collaboration.

From Jong FASadE the theme for 2025 is "Boundless Construction". This architecture café translates this. Not only because of the way in which materials were handled in this project, but also because the project is about community building. Architectural designer Bob van der Vleugel is part of Jong FASadE and is also a resident of the project.
