Concert: University of South Carolina Concert Choir

Get ready for an evening of choir music presented by the University of South Carolina Concert Choir from the USA!

The University of South Carolina Concert Choir is the flagship choral ensemble and the select SATB choir of the School of Music. While the majority of the singers are music majors, the choir is open to and includes students from a variety of majors within the university. The choir maintains an active performance schedule throughout our community and region and collaborates with the University Chorus and the USC Symphony for a major work each year. The ensemble travels internationally every two years, with recent tours to Italy in 2024 and England in 2022 featuring performances at St. Peter’s Basilica and Canterbury Cathedral, respectively. Major performances in the last few years have included works of composers who were in residency, as well as commissioned works by these guests. In addition, the choir has been selected to perform for state and national conferences (SCMEA, SC ACDA, and NCCO) multiple times since 2020. The longtime hallmarks of the choir include a commitment to premiering new music, performance of literature that is culturally and socially relevant, and diversity of programming reflecting the depth and breadth of the choral repertoire. Leadership, community, and inclusion are fostered in the choir and contribute to the culture of growth, collective and personal, that is a core value of the choir.
