The webinar provides an overview of the basic requirements for reporting cosmetic products on EU markets in the CPNP system.
According to the Cosmetic Products Regulation, a "cosmetic product" is any substance or mixture that is intended to come into contact with various external parts of the human body. (skin, hair systems, nails, lips and external genitalia) or with the teeth and the mucous membrane of the oral cavity for the purposes exclusively or mainly of their cleaning, perfuming, changing their appearance, protecting them, keeping them in good condition or treating body odor.
Only cosmetic products may be placed on the market for which a legal or natural person in the Community is designated as the "responsible person".
A cosmetic product made available on the market must be safe for human health , if it is used under normal or reasonably foreseeable conditions.
Before placing the cosmetic product on the market, the responsible person shall ensure that its safety is assessed on the basis of relevant information and a report on the safety of the cosmetic product is drawn up.
