Creative Design Lab: Gadgets and Gizmos in Game Worlds ✨
Step into a hands-on creative thinking workshop led by Jinx Inks, a senior character artist, concept artist, and illustrator with over 7 years of experience in the gaming industry. Having worked on AAA titles like the Mafia series, Civilization, and TopSpin2k25, and currently art directing and developing two board games, Jinx brings a wealth of knowledge in blending storytelling, culture, and functionality into compelling designs.
In this workshop, you’ll explore design techniques used in video games and media, pushing the boundaries of your creativity to transform everyday objects into extraordinary creations. Whether you’re a seasoned artist or just starting out, Jinx will guide you through exercises that challenge you to think outside the box and bring your concepts to life. 🤔
Come ready to brainstorm, sketch, and share your work in a collaborative and inspiring environment! 🧠✏️
What to Bring Along?
This workshop is open to anyone, regardless of artistic skill level. The muscle we’ll be exercising most is creative thinking and design. However, drawing your ideas will be the easiest way to communicate them to others, so bring along anything you’d like to draw with or on, and whatever tools you feel most comfortable using. Here’s a suggested list to get you started:
Sketching Supplies ✏️
Paper or a sketchbook
Pencils, erasers, and pens
Markers or colored pencils (optional)
Digital Tools 💻
iPad or tablet with a stylus
Laptop with design software (e.g., Photoshop, Procreate, Clip Studio Paint)
Reference Materials📒
A smartphone or tablet for browsing references
A notebook for jotting down ideas or taking notes
See you there! MUGS 🧡
