Cross Atlantic Trio - When Worlds Collide (by Kultursommer Alsergrund)

The Cross Atlantic Trio bridges the gap between the deep legacy of classical music and the vibrant energy of the present.

What happens when musical worlds collide?

In The World, Cross Atlantic Trio takes listeners on an exciting journey around the world, combining styles, rhythms and sounds from different genres, origins and traditions into a single, captivating experience. The program not only reflects the cultural background of the three musicians themselves, but also follows a common thread that weaves together a wide range of influences, challenges expectations and reinvents the possibilities of the classical guitar trio.

In one moment, the passionate pulse of an Argentine tango or the soaring rhythm of the Brazilian samba unfolds; the next opens up to colorful and groovy oriental soundscapes. Exciting original arrangements and compositions informed by jazz and improvisation continue along the richly layered musical landscapes of the Balkans, culminating in a soothing surprise with familiar film and video game tunes.
