About event
Crossroads#4 brings together the writer Lena Gorelik and the artist Norbert Bisky for a conversation about the interfaces between visual art and literature. Lena Gorelik writes novels, plays, radio plays, essays and reports. Her autobiographical novel “Who We Are” shows identity in the conflict between pride and shame, stubbornness and conformity, foreignness and everything in between. “Who we are” also tells about how a woman finds herself – and who we are in today’s Germany. The mostly male figures in Norbert Bisky's paintings are often in precarious positions - they fall, float in the air or hang upside down - and their lack of restraint is a formal expression of an existential situation. His works are represented in the collection of the Hamburger Bahnhof - National Gallery of the Present.
The conversation will be moderated by Janika Gelinek (Literaturhaus Berlin) and Mathilda Legemah (Hamburger Bahnhof - Nationalgalerie of the Present).
Admission and participation are free; no reservation required
