Cubaanse Son, by SonPatí - Dance Concert

In Cuba the son is widely played on the streets and in cafes. Here in the Netherlands, the group SonPaTí plays a contemporary variant of the son with influences from New York and jazz. The band has a typical conjunto line-up, but the trumpet is replaced by a flute. The sound is therefore transparent and mobile. The warm voice of the lead vocalist is combined with the Cuban tres, the virtuoso flute, the solid basis of baby bass and percussion, the sometimes African guitar sounds and especially the tight choirs. The musicians are very experienced and played on a large scale. stages, Latin festivals at home and abroad and in Cuba. The repertoire consists of pieces composed especially for the band. The repertoire also includes covers of bands such as New York's Los Hacheros and Cuban Jóvenes Clásicos. Let this sunny company take you to Cuba. Standing still is not an option: the son invites you to dance!
