About event
The next year of Czeching - the musical export project of Radio Wave is here! The international expert jury will once again choose the winner from among the three nominees - the indie folk quintet Ida The Young, urban cowboys Frankie & The Deadbeats and the newly nominated architect of modern electronic production badfocus.
One of them will record a video single with the financial and media support of Czech Radio, in January 2027 they will present themselves to an international audience at the largest European showcase festival Eurosonic Noorderslag (ESNS) in Groningen, the Netherlands, and get a chance to play a concert at other showcase festivals across Europe. In cooperation with the domestic export office SoundCzech, he will also receive professional coaching on a topic of his own choosing.
During the evening there will be concerts by all three nominated projects, the announcement of the winner and an afterparty directed by the DJ tandem Rozkvět & TMA.

Czeching 2026 nominations:
▶️ Ida The Young:
They are talked about as your favorite band's favorite band. The indie folk quintet Ida The Young is originally from Pilsen and probably would never have been formed if the founding duo Iris Hobson-Mazur and Marek Koliha had not met at the championship of the junior league for beginners in table football. In the end, they won and they continue by their side to this day. Today, they have under their belt the critically acclaimed debut album Tell Me When You Pass The Sun (2025), the Vinyl award in the Discovery of the Year category and the recent Angel award in the Alternative and Electronica category.
▶️ Frankie & The Deadbeats:
Urban cowboys with a punk background, Frankie & The Deadbeats bring their updated concept of country to the last detail, including costumes. He firmly believes that this genre belongs to everyone. Although they previously sweated blood in the spitting locales of the domestic punk scene (Hanba, Prague Conspiracy, Unholy Preachers, TiNG), in the end they were brought together by a common love for bonfires. On it, Prokop Korb aka badfocus mixes the influences of his jazz roots with modern R&B, futuristic rap and throbbing dance beats. In addition to innovative domestic talents, he is also hosted by names he met during his export activities across the globe.
