WE HAVE THEME, and three
The first theme of the festival – FAD STU – is related to the 80th anniversary of teaching architecture in Slovakia and the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Faculty of Architecture. The second topic, YOUTH 3, will present young Polish architects. After Slovak and Czech, and before Hungarian, it becomes part of the YOUTH V4 project. The third topic is the increasingly prestigious EU Mies van der Rohe Award and its current results.

WE HAVE A PLACE
It is, logically, the FAD STU building on Náměstí slobody in Bratislava. The faculty will celebrate its anniversary by combining the DAAD × FAD STU × URBAN MARKET festival in the newly renovated premises and in the beautiful exteriors of the adjacent "Gottka". His pedagogical and professional life between Prague and Zurich intersected with greats such as Aldo Rossi, Herzog & de Meuron and others. After the revolution in Prague, he created the New Czech Work - a group of students of analogical/contextual architecture. The most famous of them today are the personalities of the Czech scene - Michal Kuzemenský, David Kraus and Jan Šépka.
Nine young Polish architects/teams continue the theme of YOUTH 3, with which we also map the potential of architectural education in the post-communist countries of Eastern Europe.
All other guests are related to the just announced results of the EU Mies van der Rohe Award. Among them are authors whose works made it to the shortlist - Sampling (Riga/Ghent), Studio Poggioli (Bologna) and Norrel/Rodhe (Stockholm), but also finalists - H Arquitectes (Barcelona), young hopefuls - Betillon/Feyermuth (Toulouse) and finally the winners of the current year - AGWA (Brussels).
The foreign guests will be joined by young Slovak names - Alexander Topilin, Zoran Samoľ and Juraj Hubinský.
As part of the EXPATRIOTI format, the architect and director Juan Benavides from Mexico will present himself with his Slovak partner, the architect Dominika Kopiarová.
From Friday to Sunday, DAAD will once again connect with the friendly event URBAN MARKET.

17. The annual DAAD/DAAF festival will take place on 26/05-31/05/2026 with the main program at FAD STU in Bratislava.
