About event
🏆 We invite you to Cinema Film Europe to watch the poetic film Dahomey, awarded the Golden Bear at the Berlinale festival, followed by a discussion by Andrej Bán with the guests.
🏺 Do rare historical and artistic artifacts belong in the museums of countries that colonized or should they be returned to the country of origin? What is the significance of cultural heritage repatriation for a country traumatized by colonialism?
🎤 The moral-legal dilemma that the award-winning documentary deals with will be discussed by reporter Andrej Bán together with his guests, who will be:
Rudolf Kasinec: Head of the Department of Legal Theory and philosophy of law, Faculty of Law, Charles University in Bratislava. He deals with the issue of miscarriages of justice, the relationship between law and art, the sources of law, but also African traditional law.
Silvester Trnovec: Africanist and historian at the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Slovak Republic in Bratislava, where he deals with the modern history of West Africa and its relations with Europe during the period of colonialism.
