About event
❗ Entry is free, but you need to register in advance here: forms.gle/P4BsKYfZw8Wz1dZU8
🌊 The famous symphonic poem Vltava was composed by Bedřich Smetana 150 years ago. But a lot has changed since then - nature, society and music itself. During a colorful cultural evening, experts from the fields of musicology, philosophy, ecology and technology will reflect on these changes.
👀 We will hear Smetana's melodies played on the Vltava water, view themed AI visuals and, as the highlight of the program, listen to the premiere of the composition "Vltava 2024?" by Dan Dlouhé (JAMU), following Smetan's work.
🎂 The event takes place on the occasion 200th anniversary of the composer's birth and JAMU, FHS and FF UK, Povodí Vltava, Kampus Hybernská, Flaškinet and Aignos participate in it. The event follows the project Sustain: Music and sustainability.
👉 17:30 open door
👉 18:00–20:00 program
👉 20:00–20:30 networking
What can you look forward to?
➡️ Dan Dlouhý (JAMU): Vltava 2024? ⬅️
Presentation of a new composition, processing in different ways (not only) Smetana's original composition, supplemented by the author's short explanation of his creative starting points.
➡️ Pavel Kodýtek (FF UK): With Smetana along the Vltava River and Time ⬅️
You will learn how the composer conceived his most famous work, what time has taken from the Vltava and what it has become in one and a half centuries changed.
➡️ Tomáš Mašek (FHS UK): The river as a philosophical phenomenon ⬅️
Philosophical reflection on the river as a symbol of fluidity, natural variability and ever-evolving eternity.
And further:< br/>➡️ Petr Kubala (Vltava Basin) will speak about the current care of the Vltava
➡️ The Aignos Association will present "Vltava" visual works created with the help of artificial intelligence
➡️ The evening will be accompanied by Ondřej Hrách - both in words and in music with his unique instrument Flaškinet (music on glass bottles)
... So guys? 💁♀️ Unfortunately, it turned out that way. Originally, female speakers were also supposed to be in the program, but unfortunately they cannot participate in the end. Thank you for your understanding and we hope you won't blame us 🙂
